The News

The Wisconsin Association of Homicide Investigators was founded in 1996 in response to requests for specialized training in the area of death investigation. The object of forming the association was to further the education of it's members, and all law enforcement. Since that time the Annual Training Conference of the Wisconsin Association of Homicide Investigators has drawn attendees from across the United States.

WAHI has established a reputation for bringing in only the best trainers in their fields. They have been brought in from all over the world to share their expertise, in a wide variety of subjects, with our members. The training received during the conference, and the networking with other investigators,is invaluable to anyone involved in death investigation. WAHI members include local, state and federal law enforcement officers, coroners and medical examiners, prosecutors and others who work in this field.

Friends and fellow members of WAHI

This my first message as President of WAHI. A position I am truly honored to hold. I will try and keep my comments brief.

The reviews are in. The 2008 Conference was another over whelming success. As everyone knows, plans are well under way for the 2009 Conference to be held in Lake Geneva, WI. The dates for this Conference are April 22-24. Start making your training plans now to attend. Rick Luell, my compliments on yet another excellent job done by the Training Committee.

I want to thank Steve Daniels for his leadership this past year. WAHI continues to be a growing organization with a history of strong leadership. It is my goal to keep WAHI moving forward with the guidance, wisdom and experience and dedication provided by the Board of Directors.

Welcome and congratulations to the newly elected officers, Dana Nigbor-Second Vice President, Mariellen Kostopulos-Secretary, Charles Flad-Historian and Ed Anderson-Treasurer. This same greeting is extended to newly elected members to the Board of Directors, Wayne Smith, Charlie Jones, Scott Buerger, Al Kraeger and William Warmington.

I want to thank Tracy Finch and Jeff Wolf for their years of service to WAHI. Your passion and dedication will be missed. Keep in touch.
